The Rotary Club of Bluffton is hosting their annual Oyster Roast at Oyster Factory Park this Saturday, Indulge in fresh roasted local oysters, homemade chili, bratwursts, dogs, and hand cut fries. Soda, beer, and wine will be available for an additional charge.

Gates open at 4:30 PM, Oysters from 5 - 8 PM

Around Town

Beaufort is hosting their annual oyster roast at Waterfront Park. The weekend's events kick off with a 5k in downtown Beaufort on Saturday morning. Events continue all day Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free. Food and drinks can be purchased, and live music will be playing all day. It's time to do some shucking.

Around Town Anything Goes! is an exhibit of member art. This is an exhibit of artwork that has been created by Art League members. Grinding of the Greens and Letting Go of the Lights

Recycle your Christmas trees, string lights, and Christmas lights now through Jan 15!

2 locations on Hilton Head Island:

  • Coligny Beach Parking (big paved lot on S. Forest Beach)
  • Old Gullah Flea Market Site (Hwy 278 and Chamberlain Dr. use tree recycling designated area)

When the grinding is complete, the town will give out free mulch from Jan. 17 to Jan. 23 or until all mulch has been claimed.

Lights will be collected and recycled by i2 Recycle. String Light Recycling is a partnership of The Town of Hilton Head, Beaufort County, i2 Recycling and The Outside Foundation.

1st Annual Hilton Head Island Hanukkah Celebration & Menorah Lighting

The Town of Hilton Head is hosting this new annual event. All are welcomed to participate in this event featuring the lighting of the Menorah, latkes and sufganiyot (traditional Hanukkah food), music, and dreidel games. • Donations of feminine hygiene products will be collected for Hopeful Horizons.
• Ivonel Art, LLC ( balloon twisting artist) will be in attendance.
• Taste of Europe will be making the latkes The ceremony will be led by Rabbi Brad L. Bloom, M.S.W.,D.D. from Congregation Beth Yam of Hilton Head. Admission is Free

Savannah Christmas Market

I really love going to Savannah, but I must admit, sometimes it seems like it's too far. I know, I know...it takes barely any time at all to get there. The crazy thing is, every time I go, I think - that was great and I need to go more often. Well, Christmas-time in downtown Savannah does not disappoint. It is so festive with all the lights, decorations, activities...all of it. 

I went this weekend, and the holiday energy was electric. Spend an afternoon around Plant Riverside and you're sure to see Santa and to find some unique gifts. City Market is a quick step from there and they too have live music, gifts, and great food. We then took a stroll around some of the squares where lots of the homes are beautifully decorated.…
