The Market Cafe at Michael Anthony’s Cucina Italiana is next to the main restaurant. It really delivers as a one-stop culinary destination. It brings the same great service, food, and quality as its sister restaurant but is a cozier more intimate space across the breezeway. It has more of a relaxed trattoria ambiance highlighted with candles and a pleasingly less expensive but equally delicious menu.
The menu offers delicious sandwiches, pizza, salads, pasta, and smaller portions of meat and seafood dishes. A main course can be complemented by tasty appetizers like meatballs or arancini. The main dishes are about $20 each. They have a great happy hour menu where you can try many different dishes and drinks. There is also a super lunch menu, Italian coffees, and a full bar. On the way out, make sure to investigate the Italian specialty freezers with carefully curated specialty foods including homemade sauces, pasta, desserts, meats, and cheeses to take home. Birthdays and anniversaries are celebrated with a glass of wine and a dessert if you like, making it a go-to for special occasions.
