Save the Dates: Lowcountry Summer Events in Bluffton, Hilton Head, Beaufort & Savannah
Fireworks crackle over the marsh, bands warm up under twinkle lights, and shrimp festivals fill the salty air with the smell of summer. July and August are when the Lowcountry lets loose—and from Bluffton to Beaufort, there’s something happening in every direction. Whether you’re here for a week or here for good, these are the events worth saving the date for.
Hilton Head Island, SC
Tuesdays Through August – HarbourFest at Shelter Cove
Picture it: Fireworks at Shelter Cove after an oyster roast, with your toes in the grass and a drink in hand. Add Shannon Tanner’s live tunes and Cappy the Clown for the kids, and you’ve got a full summer night.
July 4 – USA 5K at Coligny Beach
Start your holiday with a festive beachfront run and keep the momentum going with beachside fireworks later that night.
Ongoing – Tiki Hut Summer Series
Live music every day at Hilton Head’s only beach bar. Think sand underfoot, tropical drinks in hand, and a rotating lineup of beachy bands. Don’t miss the full moon parties—they’re a local favorite.
Bluffton, SC
July 2 – Mayor's Cup 5K & Concert
Start your Independence week with a run through the heart of Bluffton, then kick back with live music and river breezes at Oyster Factory Park.
July 19 – Slide Out of July
It’s all about beating the heat. Bring the kids to Buckwalter Place Amphitheater for giant water slides, snow cones, and inflatable fun.
July 25 – May River Shrimp Festival
This is Bluffton in its element. Fresh-caught shrimp, sunset views, cold drinks, and a soundtrack of local bands.
Savannah, GA
July 4 – Tybee Island Fireworks
A beachfront tradition with fireworks lighting up the Atlantic. Arrive early, bring chairs, and expect a crowd ready to celebrate.
All Summer – Savannah Bananas Baseball
This is not your typical baseball game—it’s part Broadway, part circus, and part comedy act. Expect dancing, costumes, and wild fan interaction. Get tickets early—they sell out fast.
August 4–17 – Savannah Voice Festival
An operatic twist on your summer. From intimate performances to grand vocal showcases, this festival spreads across historic Savannah venues and will leave you with goosebumps.
Beaufort, SC
July 4 – Firecracker 5K
Start your morning running past moss-draped oaks and wrap it up with a celebratory coffee or mimosa in charming downtown Beaufort.
July 11–20 – Beaufort Water Festival
Ten days of parades, raft races, concerts, and waterfront fun. It's a true Lowcountry tradition and not to be missed.
Saturday Nights in August – Street Music on Paris Avenue
