Busy with virtual learning and Zoom meetings? Here’s an easy slow cooker recipe with only 5 ingredients from bhg.com. Serves 4

Beef and Carrot Ragu

Ingredients

  • 1 – 1.5 pound boneless beef short ribs 

  • Salt and ground black pepper

  • 10 cloves garlic

  • 8 ounces pkg. peeled fresh baby carrots, chopped  

  • 1 pound Roma tomatoes, chopped 

  • ½ 6 ounce can tomato paste with basil, garlic, and oregano

  • ½ cup water or red wine

  • Fresh basil leaves (optional)

 

Directions

  • Step 1

    Trim excess fat from rib meat. Cut beef in chunks, then sprinkle lightly with salt and pepper. Place beef in a 3 1/2- or 4-quart slow cooker.

This week’s crush is stunning! I just had to show it to you because…well…you’ll see. I don’t even know where to begin. If you’ve ever driven over the Cross Island bridge, you’ve probably noticed this beauty at the marina entrance to Wexford.

For starters:

The Villages of Lake Linden in Bluffton is a quiet little neighborhood off of Burnt Church Rd. Just over 200 homes with lagoons, fountains, a pool and tennis courts fill this community.

???? New restaurant alert! ????

You’ve most likely been seeing your friends posts with pictures of their delicious looking food from Chez Georges Bistro & Bar. I’ve seen at least 3 in the past few days. French cuisine with a mix of Lowcountry. What could be better — right? They are open for dinner from 4:30 to 10pm on the south end of the island.

I think you need to head there for dinner this week! You deserve a night off of cooking. Disclaimer- The owners are old family friends. Our grandmothers were friends!
