Hilton Head Lakes is on fire these days. So many people want to get into this amazing community, and why wouldn’t they? It’s gorgeous and has great amenities. We hear that the golfing is pretty darn good. I just know the new homeowners are going to spend a lot of time sitting in their screened porch. It’s so peaceful.

Don’t believe in the law of attraction? It is a real thing, and it shows up in real estate all the time. This is one of the unwritten laws that I see occur more often than not, and it is also something so hard to articulate to clients. It doesn’t make sense but it really is unbelievable how it works.

A house in our area has been on the market for almost 2 years. It is priced well, has character, has a great view and is in wonderful condition but had been passed up by Purchasers over and over. I took my Purchasers over to the home last Sunday, and they fell in love with the house. They said to me, “this house has been on the market for almost 2 years so a few extra days of thinking things over shouldn’t matter, right?” Wrong. Like I…

Natural light can boost a buyer's mood when walking through your home.

Selling your home in the spring doesn’t mean you have to actually wait until spring to prepare your home for a sale. After the holiday whirlwind of festivities and guests, it’s time to get your house in order this winter for a successful spring sale.

I asked two pros, Mary Cook, president of interior design firm Mary Cook Associates in Chicago, and Judy Dutton, deputy editor of realtor.com, for advice on what you can do now to get ready for spring showings and open houses. Here’s what they had to say.

Let natural light flood the rooms. “The best way to prepare your home for a spring sale is to open it up, lighten it up and brighten it up,” says Cook. For instance,…

Even superstars like Tom Brady and Stephen Curry need coaches. Likewise, even a top-producing agent can benefit from having a real estate coach.

90% of new agents who use a real estate coach see a significant increase in their business. They are more likely to take the steps they never would have attempted if they simply waited for assurance in their own abilities.

I will work with you to identify your specific goals. Stop blending in!

Pork bellies, oil, corn and soybeans are all commodities just like the real estate market. The market fluctuates and is controlled by supply and demand, as well as weather and the financial state of the world among many other issues. The difference with real estate is that there is also heightened emotions surrounding each transaction. Shame, guilt, anxiety, anger, frustration and pride are just some of the feelings connected to a real estate transaction. People seem to attach personalities to homes and give them much more weight than is necessary.

When a Purchaser doesn’t like your home or a Real Estate Agent gives an opinion, many owners take this very personally. I like to say — That is gold people! Take the advice and apply anything that…

What is a Lightning Protection System?

A lightning protection system is a passive means of preventing property damage from the effects of a lightning strike. It works by providing the electric charge produced by the clouds a path of least resistance to the ground. There are four main parts of a properly installed lightning protection system: copper air terminals, copper cable, copper clad ground rods, surge suppressors.

The air terminals and cable are typically copper, but sometimes they can (or must) be aluminum. All of the air terminals are connected via the cable which has a minimum of two ground rods buried 10 feet below grade. This system is then grounded to both the water pipes and existing ground of the circuit box. The surge…

Sometimes all we need is a reminder of why we even got started to begin with!

Everyone has a down moment or even day. That client that rubs you the wrong way, the deal that didn’t close, spilling your coffee on the way out the door…whatever it is, jog your memory back to the beginning and all your excitement. What was your motivation? It helps me to get out of my funk when I think about all my motivators.

Having a Real Estate Coach can guide you to the next plateau.
