This past Tuesday night, 100 Women Giving Back to the Lowcountry gathered at Holy Tequila on Hilton Head Island for an entertaining evening of connection, generosity, and impact. Filled with amazing food, great company, and a shared purpose, we came together once again to support an incredible local nonprofit—and this time, it was Brillo de Mujer in Hardeeville, SC. What a way to start the new near, our January Meeting was a great success

Every other month, our members nominate and vote on a deserving charity to receive our collective donation. This is what makes 100 Women Giving Back so special: real, immediate impact on organizations that are out there doing the work to better our community.

A Huge Thank You to Holy Tequila

Before we dive into the heart of the night, we have to give a massive thank you to Holy Tequila for hosting us! Their incredible hospitality, delicious food, and creative cocktails made for the perfect setting for our event.

If you haven’t been to Holy Tequila yet, you’re missing out. Their menu is a modern take on Mexican cuisine, with a focus on fresh ingredients and bold flavors. From handcrafted margaritas to their crave-worthy tacos, everything is top-notch.

They’re also now independently owned and no longer part of the SERG Group, which means they’ve got even more local charm and personal touch than ever before. If you’re looking for a spot that’s lively, fun, and absolutely delicious, give them a visit!

Bringing Light to Women’s Lives: Brillo de Mujer

The night’s biggest spotlight was on Brillo de Mujer—a nonprofit dedicated to empowering all women in the Lowcountry. Their mission is simple but incredibly powerful: helping women overcome barriers and build better lives for themselves and their families.

Many of the women Brillo de Mujer serves are facing challenges like language barriers, financial struggles, domestic violence, and limited access to healthcare and legal aid. This organization steps in to provide mentorship, job training, legal assistance, mental health resources, and educational programs—all designed to create long-term independence and confidence.

We were honored to support Brillo de Mujer because they’re not just offering quick fixes; they’re changing lives in a lasting way. By giving women the tools they need to thrive, they’re uplifting families and strengthening our entire community.

Two Other Amazing Charities Were Nominated

While Brillo de Mujer received this month’s donation, two other incredible organizations were also nominated, and we want to shine a light on them as well.

The Celebration Projects

Website: The Celebration Projects

Imagine growing up and never having a birthday party—never blowing out candles, never having a cake, never feeling the excitement of being celebrated. That’s the reality for many kids whose families are struggling just to cover basic needs.

The Celebration Projects ensures every child gets a special birthday, regardless of their family’s financial situation. They plan and host full birthday parties—decorations, cake, presents, games—so that kids get to feel seen, loved, and valued on their big day.

A birthday might seem like a small thing, but to a child, it’s everything. These celebrations build confidence, create happy memories, and remind kids that they matter.

Challenge Camp (Adaptive Camp) – Island Rec Center

Website: Island Rec Center Adaptive Summer Camp

Summer camp is a rite of passage for so many kids, but for children with disabilities and special needs, finding a camp that meets their needs can be challenging. That’s where Challenge Camp at Island Rec Center comes in.

This adaptive summer camp provides kids with disabilities a fun, safe, and inclusive place to play, learn, and make friends. With structured activities like adaptive sports, arts and crafts, and outdoor adventures, this camp is designed to meet kids where they are and help them thrive.

For many families, Challenge Camp is a game-changer—it not only gives kids an unforgettable summer experience, but it also provides parents with peace of mind knowing their child is in a nurturing and supportive environment.

These two organizations are doing amazing work, and we’re so grateful they were nominated! We hope they will be nominated again in the near future so we can send donations their way as well.

The Power of Giving Back

Tuesday night reminded us why we do this. It’s about more than just writing a check—it’s about coming together, learning about the needs in our community, and making an impact that actually changes lives.

We’re so grateful to all our members who showed up, donated, and made this event another huge success. It’s because of you that we get to support nonprofits like Brillo de Mujer, The Celebration Projects, and Challenge Camp.
