There is nothing we love more in the winter than a toasty, crackling fire but our warm weather, flip-flop wearing paradise does not always cooperate. Icy weather is headed our way in the next couple of days, and we are gearing up for some firey evenings. In fact, we just had wood delivered today from Carolina Morning Firewood so we will be ready. We don’t get to use our fireplace as much as our cold weathered neighbors so when we do, it's a real treat. No fireplace? No problemo! Turns out you don’t have to have a hearth in your home to get that hygge feeling we all crave. We have some options for you that can give you that same ambiance without an actual fireplace.

Burn Some Candles

Scent options are endless and there are even some with a camp-fire vibe with a wood-scent and some even crackle when they burn. We are big fans of Bluffton Candles. The options there are endless.

Try an LED Fireplace

Electric fireplaces have “come a long way baby” and are actually preferred now by many. They are easy and safe. LED lights give the illusion of real flames and now come with a heatilator or heating element. They can easily mount on any wall and give a show with different colors.

Get Creative with Fire Pits

These come in all sizes from tabletop varieties to use inside or outside ones that work on a deck or patio. We are partial to Solo Stoves and Cowboy Cauldrons. If you have the room and space in your yard the Cowboy Cauldrons are a lot of fun and you can even cook with them. Propane makes for an easy fire pit, but wood burning gives off that earthy outdoor smell we all love.

Bring Out The Space Heater

This would not be our first option as I might just rather throw on a scarf or sweater but for those that are really cold blooded, bring out the space heater. You still get that cozy feeling, and it can be a quick warm up for chilly nights. A blanket, book, cup of tea, and a space heater sound pretty nice on a brisk afternoon.

Stream a Fire on your TV

We love, love this option, and we promise you that your brain will trick you into warming up. We crank up our TV fires all year for nightly ambiance. YouTube has “fires” in all different fireplaces that run for 10 or more hours. Turn down the lights and enjoy the crackle and flames. If only there was smellovision?

Allison Cobb, David Hussey and Natalie Burnside with The Cobb Group, A Charter One Realty Team would be remiss if we did not remind you to be careful around fire. Play it safe and smart and always have a fire extinguisher at home.

ENJOY & STAY WARM!
