Summer Events in Savannah 2025 – Easy Day Trips from Bluffton & Hilton Head

✨ Summer Fun in Savannah – Just a Hop, Skip & a Jump from Bluffton & Hilton Head Island

Sometimes the best adventures are just down the road. If you’re living in Bluffton or Hilton Head Island, you’re in luck—Savannah is only about an hour away (even less from some parts of Bluffton), and it’s packed with personality, good food, and all kinds of summer fun.

It’s one of my favorite quick escapes when I want a change of scenery—whether it’s a concert by the river, a rooftop drink, or a little boutique shopping. It’s easy, close, and just quirky enough to feel like you’ve been somewhere new. So, if you’re looking for something a little different this season, Savannah’s summer calendar does not disappoint.

???? Music, Markets & More in June

Dog Days Music Fest | June 13–15
Live music, warm summer nights, and venues all over the city—this is the Savannah we love. From blues to indie rock, the Dog Days Festival brings the city alive. Bonus: the street energy around these events is part of the fun. Throw on something breezy and go where the music leads.

Juneteenth Fine Arts Festival | June 21
Held at Daffin Park, this event is powerful, vibrant, and packed with heart. Expect live performances, spoken word, incredible visual art, and a deep sense of celebration and culture. It’s family-friendly, inspiring, and one of those events that stays with you.

Heritage Fire Savannah | June 29
If you love food (and who doesn’t?), this open-fire, chef-driven event at the Westin Savannah Harbor is unforgettable. Think grilled everything, craft cocktails, and gorgeous views.

???? July’s Fireworks & Freedom

Savannah Waterfront Fireworks | July 4
Head down to River Street, grab something cool to sip, and enjoy the fireworks over the water. There’s live music, food vendors, and that unmistakable buzz of red-white-and-blue celebration.

Tybee Island Fireworks | July 4
If you’d rather see fireworks with sand between your toes, Tybee’s where it’s at. A little more chill, always festive, and you can wrap it with a beach walk under the stars.
Which do you prefer—fireworks by the river or fireworks on the beach?

???? August Brings the Arts

Savannah VOICE Festival | August 7–17
Yes, it’s opera. But don’t let that scare you off—it’s also Broadway, pop, and classical crossover in intimate venues that make you feel like you’re part of something special.
Ever been to a concert in one of Savannah’s historic venues? Isn’t the atmosphere half the magic?

????️ Extra Events Worth the Drive

SCAD Sand Arts Festival | May 2 on Tybee Island
Even if you don’t think you’re a “sand sculpture person,” trust me—you’ll be amazed. Held on Tybee’s South Beach, SCAD students and alumni transform sand into unbelievable art. Bring sunscreen and your camera.

Art & Soul Music Festival in City Market | May 3
City Market is always buzzing, but this event brings out local artists, musicians, food, and fun all in one place. It’s an easy stroll and a great way to soak up Savannah’s creative side.

Plant Riverside Summer Series | All Season Long
Plant Riverside District is always a good time—but in the summer? It’s next level. Live music, fireworks shows, rooftop bars, and events for the kids, too.

????️ A Few Savannah Favorites (from me to you)

  • The Grey: A true experience. Incredible food, beautiful design, and chef Mashama Bailey is the real deal.

  • The Collins Quarter: My go-to for brunch. Try the lavender mocha or their short rib hash—thank me later.

  • Vici Rooftop at Plant Riverside: Great views, even better cocktails.

  • Leopold’s Ice Cream: Iconic. Lines out the door for a reason.

  • Savannah Bananas Game: Not a food spot, but 100% a must-see. It’s baseball meets circus—and it’s brilliant.

Do you have a Savannah must-stop spot? We’d love to hear what’s on your go-back list.

???? So Close, So Worth It

Savannah’s close enough for dinner, but vibrant enough to fill an entire weekend. You don’t need a plan—just a good playlist and a sense of adventure. Go for a spontaneous night out, a Saturday market wander, or a special event you won’t find anywhere else.

???? Home Base = Bluffton + Hilton Head Island

While we’re all about the occasional getaway, there’s no place like home—and for us, that’s right here in the Lowcountry. Bluffton and Hilton Head Island offer that perfect mix of lifestyle, community, and beauty. And when you live here? Savannah’s just your fun, artsy, food-loving neighbor across the river.
