While our temps will be in the 50s on Saturday, you'll still be able to play in the snow! The Island Rec Center is hosting their Snow Day at Shelter Cove Park. There will be inflatable rides, a snowfield, and entertainment! When you're done playing and you've worked up an appetite, head to Tio's for tacos or everyone's favorite...pizza and New York City Pizza.

While this isn't exactly "local" or an actual event, it shouldn't be missed. JW Marriott opened Plant Riverside District in downtown Savannah, and it is pretty amazing. Over the last month I kept hearing about the new hotel and honestly, I thought "why would I go there?" Until I did...and I was so surprised and it was so enjoyable. You could spend an hour just in the lobby itself looking at the collection of minerals and dinosaur bones. Don't miss all the fountains they added on the waterfront side either. *Extra points if you find the slide!

A day trip to Savannah is just what you need. Enjoy lunch or dinner and take a stroll through Plant Riverside District.

“You can live in a scenic setting, be out on a boat and enjoy a beach or another body of water, even if you don’t swim,” said Danielle Hale, the chief economist for Realtor.com.

Waterfront homes may be even more coveted during the pandemic. According to data from Sotheby’s…

The days are about to get a little colder and it's going to be darker earlier. It's a great time to learn something new, have some fun, and have an "experience"! Grab some friends and book a cooking class.

Have you ever taken a cooking class? There is something really compelling about having someone teach you their tips and tricks. If you take the class with friends, you are sure to laugh a lot. If you're with your significant other, well...hopefully you're still laughing!! Either way, I've heard Chef Darin is a fantastic teacher. Maybe I'll try the Shrimp and Grits class!

Chef Darin hosts hands on cooking classes in Savannah. He also has a kitchen store (the only one in Savannah) if you want to stroll around and find something unique for yourself…

Who's been to Sullivan's Island and visited this delicious restaurant? If you haven't, this is your excuse to get there...STAT! AND if you have, this is your excuse to get back there!

It is a funky little place with great burgers and atmosphere. You'll definitely get a little history lesson on Edgar Allen Poe. The staff are fantastic and will definitely take care of you. I was recently listening to a podcast, of an interview with Darius Rucker, and he too said this is one of his favorite places to eat in the Charleston area.

Fall is the perfect time to take a little road trip and enjoy the weather and try new places to eat.
